Wednesday May 2 - Broadway South reaches out to schools and universities
11:00 AM
• McDonogh 15 Donation Event
We organize a donation event at McDonogh 15 where people meet through the Broadway South initiative donate more than $15,000 to 15 of the performing arts. We are very proud of the fact that we were able to attract those very generous donors to the school. This is just one way in which Broadway South will bring both financial support and mentoring support to students via our cultural initiative to the public school students of Louisiana.
12:30 PM
• Meeting with Susan Krantz from LSUNO
I meet with Susan Krantz of LSUNO and Norma Grace, Dean of Economic Development LSUNO. Again as I worked with President Cowan of Tulane and Dean May of LCTCS, I am seeking to raise awareness and support from LSUNO for the Broadway South initiative. Following the lunch, both Mrs. Krantz and Dean Grace agree to support Broadway South. We also secure a letter of endorsement for the initiative from Chancellor Tim Ryan who had also attended the legislative luncheon. Broadway South’s support from the universities around the state is promising for the future of the legislation.
2:45 PM
• Broadway South engages Lake Charles area
After driving to Lake Charles, I meet with the Lake Charles City Council at 5:00 PM that evening to present the Broadway South package and its potential impact for Lake Charles. As a result of the presentation to the Lake Charles City Council, we gain another letter of endorsement.
