Tuesday May 15 - University of New Orleans back Broadway South
10:00 AM
• I meet with Dean Meza of the University of New Orleans. He is the Dean of Education. I explain the Broadway South initiative to Dean Meza seeking his support. Dean Meza, is the Dean in charge of educating the educators, therefore his understanding and support of the initiative is critical. He will be extremely helpful in creating teaching posts at the grammar, high school, and collegiate levels. We discuss the large potential for Broadway South’s mentoring program where artists engaged in Broadway South productions will work with students in public, charter, high schools, and colleges. I also discuss with Dean Meza the means by which to establish a curriculum at the collegiate level for students to earn valuable credit working in productions or other enterprises association with Broadway South.
11:30 AM
• I appear on the WDSU Channel 6 News with Roop Raj to outline the statewide impacts of the Broadway South legislation. We discuss the initiative, spread awareness, and urge viewers to contact their legislators in support of the initiative.
