• I drive to Baton Rouge for a 9:00 AM Senate Revenue and Fiscal Committee meeting. The committee votes on releasing Broadway South from committee to the Senate floor. Joining me before the committee are a host of supporters including Councilperson Stacy Head of New Orleans District “B,” economist Gregg Albrecht political consultant Charlie Smith, and our Senate author Senator Ed Murray. After intense discussion and debate, the Senate committee passes the initiative with two amendments.

• More than 400 handwritten notes from school children in Lafayette are delivered to the state legislature today in support of Broadway South.

• That night, I return to New Orleans to host a fundraiser for a candidate from District 82 for Chris Tidmore. More than 200 people, all who will have an interest in Broadway South and can be further advocates of support for the initiative, will attend the fundraiser.

• Moreover, today marks the first day the Broadway South website is launched on the Internet. The site allows people from all walks of life to explore the possibilities behind Broadway South and to contact state legislators in support of the initiative.
