BATON ROUGE -- Louisiana's incentive program to encourage movie-making in the state has not ensured that the proper amount of tax credits has been taken by some film producers and has issued credits based on incomplete information, according to a report released Monday by the state legislative auditor.
Advocates of the tax-incentive program say the issues raised by the auditor are legitimate concerns resulting from growing pains of the relatively new initiative. They add that the problems have been or will be fixed by recent or pending legislation and changes in accounting procedure.
